From The Depth of Light

— POEM by

Barbara Gramza

(Translated from Polish)

Before the word was made, there was silence,

In it God whispered to my body,

Not through a miracle, but through a breath,

That trembles when the soul has matured.

I need no sounds,

He speaks between breath and sigh,

In the pulse of light, in the ashes of dreams,

Where understanding is born.

I do not kneel in supplication, but in gratitude,

That I can be a river of His grace,

A silence in the garden, a silent prayer,

A seed that bursts to resurrect in splendor.

In my poems burns the incense

of love that seeks no return,

I write with light on the shore of existence,

Guiding the word across the threshold of the Absolute.
