POETRY
Strange Retiree
βPOEM by Ahmet Sedat Mete
(Translated from Turkish)
My aim is not to hurt anyone;
The river never flows upwards;
The endless increases do not know to stop;
A burden to the state, a strange retiree.
I served this country for forty years;
Honesty and honesty were the path I followed;
Unfortunately, hopes faded without blooming;
A burden to the state, a strange retiree.
Some receive three, some five salaries;
Some lick the honeyed cream;
Those who receive ten thousand liras stay on the road;
A burden to the state, a strange retiree.
I would like to live my life like this;
I never thought of my end like this;
If it is not worse than torture, tell me;
A burden to the state, a strange retiree.
We used to go and do henna on henna day;
We used to wear at least a quarter at weddings;
We used to show off to everyone;
A burden to the state, a strange retiree.
Morning and noon come together for us;
We counted a meal as profit, donβt you think;
We cry silently from sorrow;
A burden to the state, a strange retiree retired.
