Let It Be Ascetic

— POEM by Suna Hezer

(Translated from Turkish)

Suna Hezer, Turkish poetess

Let it be ascetic, let all the years in your life,

Never change, stay that way, even if the fortunes don’t open,

With the undying fire of the endless night,

Whichever door I knock on, the roads lead to you.

Somehow, every season has an unchanging name,

Moonlit nights have a different taste in you,

To my dreams that I embrace,

Whichever door I knock on, the roads lead to you.

Do you think it’s easy to live without you?

My words don’t go to the heart, you know me,

Hear my last call now, you’re bleeding inside me,

Whichever door I knock on, the roads lead to you.
