I Don’t Know How Many Seasons Have Passed Over This City

— POEM by Suna Hezer

(Translated from Turkish)

Suna Hezer, Turkish poetess

I don’t know how many seasons have passed over this city,

The streets are empty now, no one can pass through sadness,

Time flowed like water as it flowed through my eyes,

You were going to come to me one weekend, where were you?

You left and the dawning dawn stopped coming,

My heart melted and flowed, you stopped coming out of my serenity,

I struggled to make the morning every moment of the night,

You were going to come to me one weekend, where were you.

If I said life comes and goes like a chapter, my love,

There is also love in this heart beyond my call,

The cure for a pain fits into a word, a look,

You were going to come to me one weekend, where were you?

….
