Dr. Mubashar Ahmed writes under the pen name Bush Ahmed. He was born in Krishan Nagar, Lahore, Pakistan. He obtained a Masters in Physics from the University of Sindh, Pakistan and a PhD from The University of Adelaide, South Australia. Bush Ahmed worked as high school teacher, university lecturer, and coal mining research officer. He also managed design and development of electronic equipment in Pakistan, manufacturing of gold nugget detectors in Australia, and established a high tech computer-based engineering solutions business in Pakistan. In 1998 Bush moved permanently to Australia. In 2019, Bush started writing in Urdu. His stories, articles and commentaries have appeared on various Urdu forums.
