Joy
— POEM : Souad Zakarani
(Translated from Arabic)
Overwhelmed by the present moment,
Life’s melody is awakening me.
Shall I capture this flowing melody?
A hidden joy that sings and flies away,
Free and lost, chirping in ecstasy.
A sound that flows between lovers.
On the branches of joy,
Like a sunrise that steals in
Like a whisper,
Celebrating love.
In its redness, I forget the sunset, its farewell.
Its yellow glows from the sun’s fragments,
To illuminate the eyes of the morning.
And its green is a color of ecstatic forests.
The fluttering of words,
Irrigates me with its sweet breeze.
It surprises my childhood,
And makes me blossom,
As a Woman.
