The Dance Continues

— And 2 Other POEMS by Aadil Raza Mansoori

(Translated from Urdu by Kamran Awan)

Aadil Raza Mansoori_Urdu Poet-

The Dance Continues

Dancing

around the bonfire

the feet are

getting weary.

Slumber,

followed by dreams,

might tread over the spreading

mist on the trees, hills and planes.

Does the Dawn too

choses same the track,

the slumber

and dreams stroll along?

Setting feet

step by step

cautiously, carefully

on footsteps of the night;

Dancing

around the bonfire.

::::

Shillyshally

All the seven oceans

have converged

in a drop

already laden with

converging of

the seven skies.

And that drop

now wants to drip

from the eyelids.

I fret over

who will bestow strength upon the earth’s core

to withstand this deluge?

::::

 Melancholy

A cold stone like stillness

is suspended there,

from the eye

to the arena of the Doomsday.

O’ Melancholy!

Is it another name of yours?

….
