POETRY

HALIBUT

—POEM by Poul Lyngaard Damgaard

(Translated from Danish by Rikke Kirchheiner )

Poul Lynggaaard Damgaard - Danish Poet - Danish Literature - Dansih Poetry

I bring the sun down in stretches.

Saturn flowers.

I don’t mind your ankles, and I hope you don’t mind mine either.

No other life. Amazon warrior.

I write split syllables while reading faith.

Flowers in the dark bloom in the black.

I am setting out democratic principles.

The dolphins of darkness that plaster themselves around all the sea. Porcelain remains given by Immanuel Kant.

The writing of reality is the peculiar case law of each individual point.

Responsibility as soon as everything is over.

I don’t know when the birds started singing, but someone says 1650, and the following year the key cycles through light.

Light-year politician was something I already was.

….
