Land of Sensitivity

— POEM by

Barbara Gramza

(Translated from Polish)

I built myself from half-shadows and light,

From a breath that wasn’t afraid of silence,

From rain that soothed, words that burned,

In a land where every pain means something.

There are no masks here, though the world demands them.

Here, every tear has its own name.

I touch thoughts before they fall from the sky,

And turn them into tender sentences—that’s how I flow.

Not everyone understands that softness is strength,

That fear can be the beginning of courage,

That sensitivity is not a wound but a bridge

between the world and what lies beyond.

In this land—mine, dreamed of,

Words are a prayer, sometimes a cry,

But they always return like letters to themselves,

Unsent—but eternal—in the touch.

….
